Also, just to double check: Canceling my card will not forfeit my collected miles, correct? I found this article (see screenshot) which claims that I'll forfeit my miles by canceling my card so now I'm pretty confused.
My assumption was that the miles in my Mileage Plus account will not be affected and as long as I have one qualifying activity every 24 months there wouldn't be an issue. Correct?

This article I found claims that canceling the card will forfeit collected miles. I hope that's not true.

Let’s say you spent $100 today and closed the card tomorrow. You won’t receive miles for that $100 and whatever you spent since the last statement, but otherwise won’t lose anything.
