I flew F IAD to LHR today and it was ok (no wash bag, was not loaded, no offer of a J wash bag instead), flight was early but had to circle and then wait for a stand. At LHR my flight to Linate was a long sad series of delays and undelays (flight not yet boarded or no gate leaving in 15 minutes), changes of gates and finally a run to the other gate (leaving in 15 minutes) and then wait another hour. Total delay just over three hours plus of course my bag is still somewhere at LHR, having missed my flight and the next flight. I travel from DC to Milan for business several times a year and am starting to wonder if I should just abandon the project. Other options (AF via CDG, something through JFK/Newark ) are not especially appealing
