An update: After a few emails where I insisted the flight was not canceled, Lufthansa has now offered a "settlement payment" of undisclosed amount, which they would transfer to my bank account "immediately". They did not admit any wrongdoing on their end (e.g. no confirmation was given the flight LH54 actually took place on 18-Feb-2023).
The mere fact the settlement payment amount was not disclosed and it was a real struggle to bring LH to the point of offering a compensation makes me believe the amount would be, at best, very modest.
Their damage control strategies aside, to how much compensation am I legally entitled?
I am assuming they did not previously have your bank account information. I would not give them that information before getting written confirmation of the amount and verifying that the amount is in line with EU 261 requirements.
