Your onlu issue is luggage.
Pre-covid, a lot of pax used the cheap fare pricing ex-TPE and dropped the last segment.
As long as you did it only occasionally, that was fine.
But it was quite difficult to short-check bags to HKFG as CX was well aware of the trick.
With a 2h transit, a CX agent will not short-check your bags. You might get a third-party agent who will ask a CX supervisor.
With a 15h transit, especially if overnight, the CX agent has a good chance to accept some reasonable excuse. Not a certainty.

If your bags are checked through and you don't board the last segment, your bags will be unloaded if you don't board the plane. That will probably delay the plane. Getting back your bags might be tricky and force a ticket repricing and no show fee. Without checked bags, no real problem.
