I love this hotel and have stayed here countless times, but I've always been subject to games where they don't upgrade to suites since they have "very high occupancy." This was true one time when the hotel showed no availability the day of my stay, but two other stays required me calling in the morning of arrival to see if suites were available and only then was I allocated one, and on my last stay I used an expiring SUA. I called in to check about an upgrade for my latest stay the morning of arrival, and was given the same line about very high occupancy and how certain suites were out of order... but of course, the website has every single room type available for booking for my stay period. A phone call with the front office manager gave me the party line of how the hotel always upgrades Globalists to suites without them calling in, and even took the story far enough to say that there are discrepancies between what is visible to guests through the reservations portal and what is actually available at the hotel, and guests could get downgraded from a suite even if booked and confirmed online.

Sigh.

There are some great staff at this property, an excellent lounge, extensive breakfast and the value for money is spot on, so it's a shame to see games like this taint the overall experience.
