I arrived at T1 this morning for the lunchtime EK flight.

Some loon in a transit van (with a roof rack of some sort) had driven up the T1 departures ramp and couldn't get through (6'6" limit or something). So, he decided the best thing would be to do a u-turn and drive back down. Of course, a big traffic jam had formed by then, so there was no chance of that happening. He at least moved over so most of the cars could get through.

Going through security you see why the staff get annoyed... some horrible scouse woman was blocking the fast track while she sorted out her bags. The security guy asked her politely to move out of the way, to which she responded with "Shhh.... I'll take as long as I want". He then insisted she moved, at which point she just started swearing at him. If it had been me, there's no way she would have been flying today...

Anyway, from drop off to lounge was < 20 minutes, so perfectly acceptable.
