last year I made a transfer from american express MR points to asia miles during their more miles more rewards promotion that ran from 13th Sep 2022 to 12th Nov 2022. I never received my miles. I kept being assured that my miles were coming as everyone I talked to at Cathay somehow weren't aware of the 13/9/2022 - 12/11/22 promotion period and were convinced I registered for the promo at a later time, in which the 6-12 week waiting period is still in effect.

Fast forward to yesterday when the cathay representative I talked to finally was able to confirm the existence of the promotion period and confirmed I applied within it. The reason that I didn't receive my miles is because I was apparently on the hong kong version of the page instead of my countries, and therefore signed up for a hong kong resident version of the promo.

I would have thought that since this was a simple mistake, that they would honour the fact that I did sign up and give me the bonus miles, but disappointingly they are holding firm on me not getting my bonus miles.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or has had success talking to Cathay and getting them to change their minds? Now stuck with not enough miles to make a redemption.
