Yes, the HI Alte Oper would be better and more centrally located. The area around the CP is, especially during the weekend, rather quiet. There is however a tram stop in front of the hotel which gets you into downtown Frankfurt in 15 minutes without need to change. Next to the CP is an Indian Place (quite good). If the CP is significantly cheaper than the HI the CP would not a bad choice.
