Use your JL confirmation number on MH website, and see if you can access the blocked seats. It's also possible that blocked seats were made available to you by some technical error in your original booking. If it doesn't work, just check back online starting from 72 hours before departure, sometimes those seats are released ahead of check-in.
As to specific seats, just use SeatGuru or watch YouTube reviews to get a sense, then apply your own preferences. There are no bad seats in J.
