I might have a new favorite Hyatt. The Seabird is really something. Lots of rain when we were there last week, and I was impressed by how much indoor space there is: huge lobby with comfortable seating, library, kids game room, poolside Shelter Club.

I learned from a local that Mission Ave in Oceanside doesn't have the best reputation, but it seems to be on the rise, partly due to the Seabird / Mission Pacific I'm sure. Definitely not a pretentious beach town.

Got an upgrade to a Grand Ocean Suite, which was great for a family. One kid on the sofa bed and plenty of room for a rollaway for the other. And the bathtub had an ocean view!

Overall, just a great stay in any weather.
