URs are worth between $1.25 and $1.50 in travel depending upon what other cards you have, and there are several ways in which you can turn them into cash at $1.25 via pay yourself back. That in itself makes them more flexible than Avios, plus you can use them in lieu of cash, transfer them to BA, United and many other airlines, increasing the flexibility for topping up balances on those currencies. So I would say keep the UR and burn the Avios plus cash since Avios are harder to use (particularly on partner airlines in the US these days) and less flexible. But ultimately it all depends upon how you much value you can extract from your Avios versus URs over the long haul.
