You can also use "Metropolitan Airport Codes" such as YTO, NYC, LON, TYO, OSA, PAR (as you can/would at the Aeroplan search page).

HKG isn't really "near" TPE... Co-terminals are done, but everything else you need to separate. Easy enough to have a couple default groups - e.g. when searching for flights to Japan, I usually put "TYO, OSA, CTS"
which covers:
Tokyo (NRT & HND)
Osaka (KIX & ITM)
Sapporo (CTS)
