Chase Travel Screwed Me Over
I am exceptionally frustrated with Chase Travel with my Chase Sapphire Reserve.
I needed two hotel rooms for a single night at an airport. I found one I liked and booked it through Chase Travel. However, when it came to the end of the transaction, the website told me the information didn’t go through and to try again. Stupidly trusting the website, I went ahead and tried again. This time I was given the screen for a successful booking.
But of course, the first transaction went through. And of course, it was non-refundable. It’s a Hilton hotel and they refused to give a refund because the rooms were non-refundable. Chase Travel tried calling and got no traction. I tried a dispute, but Hilton rejected it. Which I understand, because this wasn’t Hilton’s fault.
However, it is the fault of Chase Travel. Their website gave me an error (and my family member who was watching saw it too) and double booked the travel. They are refusing any accountability on their website and trying to blame Hilton for their policies.
I have spent over 7 hours trying to dispute this and get it resolved. I have spoken to Chase travel, the Dispute department and Customer Service. I have been screwed out of $570. I will be cancelling my Chase cards (I have an Amazon card too).
And my advice is to never trust a website when they tell you the payment didn’t go through and to try again.
