Lots of smokers but nothing like the Italians. I’m a beer drinker and fitting in well. People just walk around at night with open bottles and cans of beer. I assume it’s legal? Too bad they don’t throw them away properly as I found a lot of empties laying around. The crime seems very low here also.

I did not see an appreciable difference between Munich and Cologne or Frankfurt. Have not been to Berlin in a while. Just like in the US, big cities are more expensive typically than small towns. Perhaps that what he meant?
