This is great advice and if it becomes an issue, there are workarounds that can eliminate your risk. Basically, you purposely use excessive data while home to offset any roaming data. The ratio is what they measure, not the amounts, so you will have a greater US vs. travel percentage. Supposedly anything above 50% home use is all that is needed.
I can't remember if it was you who mentioned it, but I tried using Speedtest and it doesn't use as much data as I would have hoped. I tried watching YouTube TV and streaming Apple Lossless music to drive up my usage when I'm in the US, but that still feels like a lot of work. Are there any gigantic files that I can download to make this nice and easy? Downloading a 25GB file whenever I'm in the US will be awesome, but I am not aware of any.
