You’re looking literally at the mid-afternoon international arrivals rush at ORD when getting off the DXB-ORD flight. Even at this unfortunate time it’s still do-able with GE as a carry-on-only traveler with PreCheck for the “self-transfer” onto UA, AA (and easier still DL) domestic flights, but it doesn’t take very much for it to be missed when only having 60 minutes between getting off the plane and the next flight’s gate closing.

I don’t regret trying to make such “self-transfer” trips with 60-90 minutes at ORD; what I do regret is not having always tried to make 60-90 minute self-transfers at ORD when coming off international flights and consequently commencing wasting hours in the UA, AA and DL lounges at ORD even as I could have made the earlier flights before gate closing.
