Holiday Inn Liverpool City Centre

What is your Priority Club status?

Diamond

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Standard King, no upgrade

How are the rooms?
Average room, standalone wide table, but doesn't quite fit into the alcove because there are some fixed phone sockets jutting out where the table legs should go. So there is a gap between the table and the wall into which your stuff can fall if not careful.
Only two mains sockets in the whole room by the table. So you can't even have the lamp on at the same time as charging phone and using the kettle.
Air con controls did not affect the operation of the air con / heater. Window could be opened by about 1mm.
Shower was mostly ok but again for some reason the water temperature could not be adjusted to "warm", only cold and (too) hot.
Wifi free for all, no problems.

How is the exec. lounge?
None

What was good and what was bad?
Location doesn't get any better if arriving and departing by train to Lime Street.
Handwritten personal welcome note in the room and a small coconut/chocolate thing.
High quality toilet paper!
Breakfast starts at 0630, arrived at that time and nobody was there so started helping myself, eventually someone came by to collect diamond voucher (which was a huge piece of thick card, a bit of a waste). Quality and selection average. Apparently they had a "special" of avocado and poached eggs which you were asked if you wanted when giving your room number - but not offered to me since I seated myself.

Check in a bit slow for some reason but friendly.
Issues with room.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Paid £67 which should be further discounted by my Amex £75 off £300 IHG offer.
At this price and if location suitable, I would happily "suffer" the issues with the room, but I intend to try out as many of the other nearby IHG properties on my next visits.
