Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport
What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, got double executive.
How are the rooms?
Average room and bed, with table and many mains sockets. Free "minibar" with chocolate bars, water and soft drinks. View of car park.
The tap is a circular knob on the wall and has two settings - hot and scalding. Once the cold water in the pipes had flowed out it was impossible to get cold water out of the shower head.
Bathtub drain was blocked meaning I had to turn off the shower after 5 minutes and wait 2 minutes for the water to drain, otherwise would be standing in dirty water, then had to wash my feet separately afterwards.
Air conditioning / heating was acceptable. Wifi free to all without login, was fine but a bit sluggish in the evening when presumably lots of people were using it.
How is the exec. lounge?
None
What was good and what was bad?
Good breakfast - was told continental starts at 0500 and hot food at 0600 on weekend. Wide selection of hot and cold items. Went at 0550 and was completely deserted but the hot food was out, so I started helping myself and eventually someone came by to collect the diamond voucher.
Check in was speedy.
Bad - shower as mentioned.
Whole building is a bit dated.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Paid £73 + £14 for airport bus (there are cheaper ways of getting to the airport). I was not using the airport, but this was the cheapest IHG option in Glasgow at the time of booking, I did consider other chains and non-chains first.
Would return in similar circumstances i.e. if it had the lowest price and travel time / location was unimportant.
