As pointed out, it's not walkable in any practical sense. I haven't stayed here since before the pandemic, but I've logged quite a few stays here and at the Marriott on the EWR property, which is walkable from the terminal (though most people would prefer not to take this hike as it's not a very straightforward one).
In any case, I prefer the Ren to the Marriott here and it's not even close IMO. If you're literally just crashing for a few hours and then getting back on a plane, the Marriott might be a bit better but the Ren is nicer, has better service IMO, and the rates are usually comprable.
The only other edge the Marriott has is better views of aircraft operations.
