II've long had a theory that the best departure time for any flight over 3 hours is 2am, though. For me it's the best use of time before and after the flight.
For long flights, this is my preferred departure time too. Generally, the earliest I prefer would be midnight to 1 am, but sometimes have to settle for 11 pm.
