Is it doable for MHC to book the standard room for my days using points even though points aren't showing up? Or can I have her apply a suite upgrade so I can book on points in general? The property is definitely playing games with rooms and standard points being available.
No, your concierge will not be able to do it. The hotel is sort of playing games. They set aside a certain number of standard rooms to be bookable with points. Those are all booked. While this doesn't sync with what Hyatt says they are supposed to do, it is fairly easy to get standard rooms on points if you book far enough in advance. Spring break next month? Forget it.
