That makes a lot more sense That post didn't load for me, nor did the following one.

I suppose taking off towards the mountains requires a bit more of a high performance takeoff, so a lighter plane would help with that. Both MBJ and KIN are very close to the original route, but I'm surprised they'd make an international diversion instead of just going to FLL.
