I have seen anecdotes regarding such access involving separate tickets for over a decade. Generally they indicate success. As
Koru Flyer posted, confidently fronting up with both boarding passes is the way to go.
To be clear, there are no caveats on the published oneworld lounge access page regarding any requirement for travel to be the same booking. There verbiage is specifically:
- First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
Some have even successfully used this rule in relation to obtaining lounge access prior to taking a short haul flight in economy which is connecting to a longhaul flight in business/first class based on the "Vice-Versa". (Otherwise the 'vice-versa' would seem to be be superfluous.)
