Apparently there’s a contract Marmite in England has with beer brewers around the country. A lorry turns up and the brewers fill it up with the sludge surplus from their beer making process. Lorry goes back to the marmite factory and then some highly skilled blending work goes on to standardise the taste.
Shocked me how different the result of this process could be from one country to another. I don’t mind vegemite, but NZ Marmite was an egregious assault.
Apparently, NZ Marmite has sugar added to it among other things.

And reading around the internet the Kiwis don't like UK Marmite or Vegemite because it's too tangy.
