The UK Marmite always seemed noticeably sweeter than Vegemite. I only ever ate Marmite when I lived in the UK, but I stick to Vegemite here. I've never tried NZ Marmite, I didn't even know that was a thing. Although I seem to remember something about a shortage of Marmite in NZ after the Christchurch earthquake. I just assumed they made the UK branded stuff over there.
