I made another attempt this morning to go to the Admirals Club at JFK. I had no problem with American Airline’s security before TSA, and it was a breeze going through the TSA checkpoint. When I got into the lounge they scanned my boarding pass and then I offered my Lounge+ card and they said they didn’t need it.

I was then questioned as to how I got into Terminal 8 as only individuals with a Jet Blue or American Airlines ticket can get through TSA. I said as long as you have a same-day ticket to an airline at JFK you can enter any of the terminals. She said that policy was changed a while ago and it’s not allowed anymore. I said I’m here and went through TSA just fine, so they must not have changed their policy.

After that brief exchange, they let me go into the lounge. I was also being referred to as “That Alaska Guy”, so I think they must have received the complaints from the JFK Alaska Lounge Team. The Specialist in the Alaska Lounge said the Lounge Manager was going (or may have already gone) to the Admirals Club in-person to talk to them about the issues.

I have to say, the Alaska Lounge staff at JFK are the most friendly and helpful staff out of all of the Alaska Lounges I go to. PDX would be next in that line, and then followed by SFO.
