You can try searching for airfare from a bigger city with nonstop flight to Asia (ORD, NYC, SFO, LAX) and book a separate flight from Cincinnati. There will be more options at lower prices. Connecting in HKG/TPE/MNL tend to be cheaper.
AFAICT it's not the CVG (Cincinnati) leg that's pushing the prices up, but the WUH (Wuhan) destination; prices are [somewhat] "reasonable" from CVG to Shanghai, for instance.
