My kids and I have the same first initial and last name. If I report my card as damaged, get a new one in the mail, then give them the old one to go travel with, would they be able to access lounges? I learned my card number was compromised last summer upon landing in AMS for a 10-day trip. Amex sent me a new card to my home address but was able to keep my the one in my possession active for lounge access purposes (it did work at the Plaza Premium lounge at the end of my trip).
That said Centurion Lounges check IDs and boarding passes so matching initials may not be sufficient (ethics aside). Best to just add the AUs (you can probably get a MR bonus that will offset the fist year cost as well).
