LHR to HKT - dealing with tiredness
Hi All,
On Thursday, we have a 20:35 departure from LHR to SIN, a hour or so transit and then 18:25 departure from SIN to HKT with arrival at around 19;30 local time in HKT
I usually board the LHR flight, settle down and at around 11pm try to get some sleep (which can of course be broken) as I believe my body clock treats the flight / evening like a normal night at home where I would sleep at 11pm. I usually get around 6-7 hours sleep of the circa 13 hour flight.
When I later arrive in HKT, the time is 19:30 local where I have dinner and I then at about 11pM, I attempt to sleep for 8 hours ie through the night but usually have trouble and can usually sleep for around 6 hours before awaking at about 5am when I then cannot sleep. Later that day and over the next few days or so I can then feel quite zonked out.
I assume the inability to have a good nights sleep in Phuket (and waking up quite early / being zonked out) is down to my body not wanting to sleep because my body clock thinks its circa 5pm London time.
I would be grateful if my thoughts above seem correct and perhaps my current thoughts of trying to limit sleep on the LHR to SIA flight (and therefore being quite tired) at around 11pm in Phuket seems like a possible solution?
Many thanks
MV
