Yes I assumed it was an A380 and they had a reliability issue, not something that a 77W suffers from. Because you will be arriving more than an hour early then you can get EC261 compensation for the short notice cancellation, but it would depend on the reason, hence it's useful to ask this question at the time. BA are not in the habit of telling the whole truth after the event.
A question my Love. If there was no J left and one was bunged down The Back, would one be allowed to say “Thanks but no Thanks…I’ll go tomorrow in the J for which I have paid” ? I had run away with the idea that once you were in an IRROPS situation, you could request such, or even a flight via ORD or elsewhere with an AA connection. I’m sure this has been asked before but I just want to be clear in my own mind.
