Because you will be arriving more than an hour early then you can get EC261 compensation for the short notice cancellation, but it would depend on the reason, hence it's useful to ask this question at the time. BA are not in the habit of telling the whole truth after the event.
Sadly not I fear - OP has been rebooked on to the later AA135 due to leave at 1350 and arrive about 75 minutes later than the BA281, so out of scope for compensation if it’s on time.
