Yes I assumed it was an A380 and they had a reliability issue, not something that a 77W suffers from. Because you will be arriving more than an hour early then you can get EC261 compensation for the short notice cancellation, but it would depend on the reason, hence it's useful to ask this question at the time. BA are not in the habit of telling the whole truth after the event.
