My 22-yr old son will graduate from college this May with a double major in Chinese and marketing. He has elderly aunts and uncles in Wuhan that he wants to visit. He is also seriously considering going to grad school in China. (He figures, probably correctly that 3 months in China in the summer will greatly enhance his reading and speaking skills) I realize I am asking a very broad question and almost feel guilty doing so, but anyone who wishes to contribute their thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Several days ago, I took a stab at looking at plane fares and some were about $3000 and they typically required about 50 or 60 hours of travel time through places like Frankfurt. (My son will fly out of Cincinnati ) I am curious if anyone has good insights (guesses) as to what might happen to plane fares between now and May. Also, whether the visa and covid restrictions may ease up. Thanks in advance for any help that can be given.
