Unselected seats could disappear before Plats in R are accomodated in Polaris.
UA hasn’t been clearing much on upgrade lists early and lack of PN (space for GS upgrades) is definitely not a positive. I’d be more optimistic as a Plat if PN had availability. Good luck though - if you get your upgrades, post the results so we can adjust our guesses in the future

If you and everyone else will indulge my curiosity for further speculation. I checked the flight again this evening and the buckets changed from the original (first row) to the second row. Does the change mean anything impactful? Still no PN or PZ space, and still the same amount of Polaris seats available as before, but curious as to the significance.
