I have noticed several occasions lately when there are long (hours) of seated FA's due to 'turbulence" and not wearing their harnesses and without any apparent danger. It seems more frequent over the last couple of years. Also, US lawsuits for injuries are much more than in other countries so airlines here likely tend to be overly cautious to keep out of court and huge jury settlements.

I have also noticed FA's freely choosing to sit and not provide service more lately. I have no idea if that is industrial action of some sort but it is annoying particularly in the first row of F where we can clearly see the sitting and chatting or being on their phone/tablet. Then again I've had some flights lately during which the crew were extremely good, made cabin passes about every 20 minutes on top of usual beverage and food service if only to walk back to the curtain and back. My thought is at least one FA in first should be "on duty" at all times ready to help.
