A question re pre-selection of meals in business class..

Am within the 14 day window for the outbound legs of a BAH to HKT via Doha
Flying BA to DOH, then codeshare on QR to HKT
Logged in on both the QR App and Web it has the option for selecting Special Meals, but under the first leg (LGW to DOH) the preselect option is there, but greyed out! When I then select the onward leg to HKT, the preselect option isnt there at all, let alone greyed out.

Is this because whilst the DOH HKT leg is QR, I am booked on the BA codeshare flight number? 🤔
