British Airways and westjet connection

Hi

I have booked a ticket directly via BA website to travel from Amsterdam to Ottawa with two stops London and Toronto.

My issue is with the connection in Toronto as I will be transferring to Westjet to continue my journey to Ottawa. The transit time is only 1 hour and 35 minutes, but I am not sure if my bags will need to be collected at Toronto and checked in again or will they go all the way to Ottawa.

I have the same ticket nunber for the full journey, but neither BA customer service nor Westjet are able to confirm whether my bags will be checked in to the final destination.

I searched online for any partnership or detail of the interline agreement, but nothing helpful. I thought the fact that BA website is booking tickets using Westjet, then there must be an agreement in place to use those routes.

I would be grateful to know if someone else has taken this journey or something similar in Canada before and can give me any information so I can be prepared.

Toronto website is not that helpful too as at one place it says any checked-in luggage from EU and UK can be transferred to other domestic destinations without security clearance if bags were tagged to that final destination. But in other part of website it says I have to collect bags even if tagged to Ottawa and place them on connection belt after clearing security.
