I always thought the same thing, but this year I hit a milestone that I would not have hit (yet) without the qualifying nights credit. In other words, the qualifying nights credit is good for more than status level.

I will call within the next few weeks to see if Chase is willing to waive the AF. This deval of the 1-4 cert and points in general will be an argument.
I await your report. (But I believe you should ask for a credit, not for a waiver. I understand that Chase does not waive fees, but will issue credits.) Good luck.
