Agreed ADRs have increased but still less increase than awards overall in my own overview..Its out of whack unbalanced now frequently.
Doesn’t amaze me at all the conversations here for the dedicated WOH program member
I actually expected more comments.
The more informed bloggers got this one right.
Will refrain from repeating those dramatic comments
Think I speak for many when I say the vast majority here value their point currency for their travel needs

When value is seriously eroded it takes reevaluation to see if it’s worth collecting with the same level of commitment
Ive been in programs before Flyertalk came into existence and no time can I remember especially with Hyatt where the room is 200 in cash and 80 dollars more if I redeem in points .
Or 500 dollars in points and 300 for cash
Its as if Hyatt is becoming an airline program run by Delta Airlines management.
The idea in my own thinking has always been an alternative currency that can allow for aspirational experiences you may not realize with just paying cash.
Of course this new formula may still work in some regions/ destinations
it’s really about are there more positives over the negatives at the end of the day.
Only each of us can decide if that works.

Speaking for myself by redeeming in other programs more frequently (not by desire)that has me saving 50%
to not redeem with Hyatt in select major cities.
That was never the case historically to the extent it is now if we look at 1.7 to 1.9 per WOH point
Make no mistake when the playing field is level with a high performing property I’ll likely be found in a Hyatt

For those of us that appreciate Hyatt hotels & World of Hyatt fairness and value it’s been the foundation of our very relationships
Hyatt in my opinion had damaged its program value so badly since seasonal awards were introduced (likely a former SPG copy cat move which damaged SPG) that they will be forced eventually into a complete dynamic award pricing scheme.
I cannot see any other possible outcome based on the path they have currently undertaken and how lopsided the disparity between paying and redeeming.
We all understand that every program wants to maximize revenue that said…..
If one studies the WOH award pricing based monthly on low medium and peak it’s obvious what’s going on
Most months are set in the highest redemption levels or simply vast majority set @ peak

I’d debate other programs now have greater desirability due to their flexibility of award pricing as much as we also dislike
dynamic pricing even if you hate or love Marriott Hilton IHG etc
Just like in the Deltas program some are just fine redeeming 100k to fly NYC to Atlanta one way in coach
I’ll leave that privilege to others where it may not matter to a given member 😎
