I don't have much to add here. The reality is that you shouldn't try to enter the USA for reasons which have been advertised here and elsewhere. If you want the risk, then the way ESTAs work is that they are automatically cleared by a robot, and it's possible that your flight will be fine for this, but until you get to the departure gate you won't know for sure. Then when you get to Florida you would have to answer any questions correctly. So that may work out OK. But the downsides to this are considerable, not least that by being in breach of your ESTA conditions that you will struggle to enter the USA or even get a visa. I should point out that FT has a policy not to encourage illegal activity. So however you look at this, you are better off talking to whoever sold you your ticket to see if you can use the value in some way and avoid the USA on this occasion.
