The Bangkok shuffle over the last couple.of days has been interesting, and I have had three trips over the next 8 weeks affected.

The A380 replaces what was previously showing as an A330 on my travel days, operating the latest of the current three mid evening departures but leaving a little later at 2105. So all in all that’s good news, provided the extreme single rotation A380 delays of last summer do not return

The earliest of those three evening flights however has been retimed from 1925 to 0950 but with the same flight number (QR831), and switched from a 24 Qsuite 777 to a 42 seat 2-2-2 777 on my travel days.

Meanwhile, again on the days I am affected, the middle of the three evening departures has switched from a 42 Qsuite 777 to a 22 J 787.

Given there are now only 2 mid evening departures, and one of those now has a much lower J capacity, I ignored my usual "wait and see for a while" approach and contacted QR this afternoon to switch my now 0905 flights to the evening A380, to make sure I was sorted for vaguely the right time of day for my connection. The schedules and aircraft may yet change again of course but then I am travelling soon... I suspect that won't be the end of it though
