Its not just flying blue gold but also delta gold medallion.
This tells me they’ve seen the numbers and expect huge amounts of elites to through LHR and don’t want their flagship lounge, which is probably one of if not the best skyteam lounge now, to become a zoo.
All other VS lounges follow standard Skyteam rules.
