For anyone considering staying here, the ongoing rude treatment by the staff continued, even after Marriott confirmed I was entitled to an elite breakfast benefit, and the matter was eventually escalated to corporate.
The hotel posted this on Tripadvisor, which is incorrect:

Dear Guest,

I understand that you were dissatisfied with the $10 voucher we were able to offer you towards food or beverage's. As we've stated, the free breakfast option is only for Resorts and our property is not considered a resort nor do we charge resort fees. We are completely in compliance with the Bonvoy program and I am sorry that you feel other wise , we have honored your 2pm check out time.

After I spoke with corporate, I got this email from the property
My name is Jessica Ruiz and I am the Operational Manager for Triada Palm Springs. Your comments to Marriott’s customer care department have been referred to me for response. First off we would like to apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay especially in regards to not receiving your elite breakfast. Please note, we have adjusted $100.00 off of your bill and refunded it back onto your Visa ending in 4590 due to not offering breakfast. We have also awarded 750 Bonvoy points onto your Bonvoy account, please allow 3-5 business days for both to reflect. Please reach out if you have any questions.



Thank you for bringing your feedback to our attention, we do consider this matter closed.
Despite the impersonal, not particularly apologetic tone, this makes clear that the hotel is absolutely on notice that how they were treating elite guests was improper, and I encourage anyone who stays here despite the inhospitable staff to invoke this email and the elite benefit guarantee should you encounter hostile staff like I did.
