Lies about flight delays

I just got a notification of a delay to my WS flight today "due to an issue outside of the airline's control after leaving the gate". Which is funny, seeing as how it isn't scheduled to leave the gate for over 8 hours.

What they really mean is "your flight is delayed due to our failure to plan a sufficient amount of turnaround time in the 787 schedule, such that a small uncontrollable* delay almost 24 hours before your flight has cascaded in to a delay to your flight. Even though the schedule is completely within our control, we don't ever want to pay anyone compensation, so we're going to blame this on the upstream uncontrollable delay and see if we can get away with it".

*The flight that started the delays actually left the gate 15 minutes late, then it looks like perhaps a bit of a wait for deicing. I'm not sure that really qualifies as "uncontrollable", but let's just go with it for now.
