It certainly makes it more likely for me based in EDI - and if there were domestic Virgin flights again for me it would be a no-brainer to be able to connect in LHR, CDG or AMS.

At the moment, I'm leaning towards staying loyal to BA because of no domestics, but in my opinion from EDI the Skyteam options are better (on top of being able to connect in CDF or AMS, having direct regular Delta flights to the USA). This is one of those cases where I think IAG suffers by channelling all (status) traffic through LHR, as MAD only has seasonal, infrequent flights to EDI. DUB still isn't an option despite the JV because of no elite recognition.
