What you could do if you're keen to spend EB points is to buy a Plus/premium economy ticket for points at about 1/3 of the point cost (or using cash) and bid for an upgrade using EB points. The total point cost should be much less (although a lot more than the cost of a pure award) but there is of course no guarantee that the upgrade bid is successful. The same trick can of course be used for Go/economy, but you may be less willing to gamble with an unsuccessful upgrade if that would leave you in Go.
Or you could look for a Star Alliance Award flight with some other *A airline (combination) at 130 000 EB points in business, if you can find it.
thanks
Tomas E for clarifying this.
I knew something is wrong.
Then, how can I search for the award? If I login to my EB account (not sure if I have one, perhaps I do), then the search will return different EB "prices"?
or is there a specific link where I search this?
I have experience with MM, where I go to bargains and then to flight awards. Is here the same?
many thanks
