I think we need to know the name of the property. I don't understand why people don't share the names of the properties they are criticizing
We were in Shanghai Marriott in 2015 and the treatment was not good at all, no welcome plate, counter-check in etc. (just stating facts). We asked for connecting rooms (we called Marriott and they made a remark on the booking) as we had 3 small kids and they dared to give us 2 rooms on different floor?! Of course no upgrade was offered (they could have put all of us in a suite). After some serious conversation suddenly two room on the same floor appeared.
You can get Platinum with Marriott by servicing your BMW in a BMW workshop in China some years back.
