Is there a risk the waitlist hasn't been done properly? Anything we can do to mitigate that? What does he tell the gate agent? Can the check-in agent help?
yes, this is almost certainly applied incorrectly. you have to call in to fix it, if you wait to talk to the gate agent the most likely outcome is that they don't know how to fix it and don't have time to do it even if they know what to do and you end up in the back.
