Now in the FB group someone said they called marriott and were told the bookings were good, and would be honored. Which goes with my thoughts initially that they may have done this on purpose to get good reviews/news on a new and maybe the most expensive marriott property. & if they cancel thing of all the negative reviews this new property would get.
Something like this is certainly not going to be handled at the CSR/call center level, so it's hard to know how valid that assurance is.
