Even though they can, by policy, cancel if it was a mistake, I’m going to be pretty mad if I book flights and they wait to let me know until a month or two ahead of time that they won’t honor the reservation. I don’t have airline points to book refundable flights and the cash price for refundable is through the roof. I would have been disappointed, but ok, with them canceling as soon as the rates were discovered (the same day) if this was truly a mistake. But I’ll be rethinking my Marriott loyalty if they string us along and refuse to honor the reservations later.

exactly, surprisingly econ from nyc close to 1500-2k. Marriott should cancel now as opposed to last min. Some ppl have said this happened w another JW in usa and marriott cancelled weeks before w an email from hotel. Ive booked a glitch cash rate before 4 mos in advance, and then was emailed 2 weeks before checkin that hotel wouldnt honor, it was a mattress run so we came to a resolution.

Now in the FB group someone said they called marriott and were told the bookings were good, and would be honored. Which goes with my thoughts initially that they may have done this on purpose to get good reviews/news on a new and maybe the most expensive marriott property. & if they cancel thing of all the negative reviews this new property would get.

i will buy tkts in April just to be safe but am def looking forward & anxious to any updated info; the stress of the unknown is annoying. Imagine flying all the way to kenya and they wont honor…
